Books Read, 2020

I will be honest, in the past, I haven’t really been that much of a book reader. I read lots of articles, magazines, manga and graphic novels – but not necessarily books. Weirdly, podcasts helped pave the way for me to read more books. I got into audio books when I traveled a lot more previously, and maybe this helped wire my brain in a way that is more ready to for longer forms of storytelling. Been working on this over time, and last year probably was the year that I read the most. I know, it’s kind of pathetic tbh. In my defense, I am a rather slow reader – movies and video games tend to take more of my attention.

Yes, I did include some comics and graphic novels in this list. I think they count.

Here are the books that I read in 2020.

Big Friendship” by Aminatou Sow and Ann Friedman (Thank you Elizabeth.)

Trick Mirror” by Jia Tolentino

The New Dark Age” by James Bridle

Uncanny Valley” by Anna Wiener

Giovanni’s Room” by James Baldwin

On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” by Ocean Vuong

Lie with Me” by Phillipe Besson, Molly Ringwald

Swimming Pool Library” by Alan Hollinghurst

Sex Criminals” by Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky

Phoenix” by Osamu Tezuka

The Wicked and The Divine” by Kieron Gillen
