Movies Watched, Dec. 2022
December was rather hard. But the movies that I got to watch help me get through it. Felt foggy all month as I stumble towards the end of the year. As always, being on a long flight helped me watch a lot of films.

Movies Watched, Sept. to Oct. 2022
Took October as a chance to reset. Continuing to watch a lot of comedies, a few of them were really surprising. Trying to stay afloat with the absurdity of it all. Noticing that I am losing the stamina for gore and violent films that feel hollow or purely referential. We’re so close to end of the year, again.

Movies Watched, Aug. 2022
August was kind of confusing, frazzled and sweaty. In a funny twist, the films that I watched ended up being much hornier than my day to day life at this moment. Excited that the weather is going to cool off soon, I hope. Is everyone ok?

Movies Watched, Jul. 2022
It’s weird that I don’t remember watching movies on the airplane on my trip to the UK. This was a blurry month, unfortunately.

Movies Watched, June 2022
Noticing that somehow it’s gotten harder for me to hit my expected 10 films a month (minimum.) Been seeing friends and going outside, among other things. Somehow my evenings get filled up with chores and activities. Maybe this is more telling of my post-COVID brain too. At the beginning of the year, I wanted to watch at least one movie a week, which would bring me up closer to 4 – 5 a month, but feeling like I should be at least a bit more ambitiou

Movies Watched, May 2022
I have been feeling much hazier this last month. Things don’t seem to be letting up. Another day, another mass shooting event in the United States. Kind of hard to get through day to day when your brain is in constant terror, but I guess that’s probably the American way.

Movies Watched, April 2022
A little late to write this, but saw a few notable films that I really enjoyed and expanded a few trailing thoughts that’s been living in my brain this last month. The weather is generally getting nicer. I’m very surprised that for once in my fourteen years of living in New York, that we are finally in the middle of the longest Spring I’ve ever experienced here.

Movies Watched, March 2022
March flew by pretty quickly, more than I expect it would. This note is also way too late, between traveling and changing jobs, things felt pretty hectic.

Movies Watched, Feb. 2022
The weather has become increasingly unexpected, even for New York. The world continues to spiral in terrifying ways, with no clear sign that it would change directions at least in the short term. I keep thinking about the work that you need to do to keep bitterness and hopelessness at bay. I keep thinking about staying steady about being numb or oblivious. I should remember to pick up some allergy medication, starting to feel like Spring may come a bit early.

What a year. Anxious for what awaits us next. Best of luck, everyone.

Movies watched, Sept. 2021
Can’t believe that the year is almost over. Time continues to move in ways that feels slightly foreign prior to COVID-19. Trying to keep the anxiety of not accomplishing enough at bay. So many movies that I am excited about later this year!

Movies watched, August 2021
Late summers in New York always made me feel generally very bad. Very glad that this is going away (for now) soonish. Looking forward to a crispy Fall.

Movies watched, July 2021
We’re entering the part of summer that I am not the biggest fan of. Usually I find an excuse to step outside of New York around this time of the year. I guess the world is on fire, so soon enough everything will be even hotter. Appreciated seeing so many of our friends in person in the last few weeks though.
